Rev. Edward A. Garrett

Reverend Edward A. Garrett is a God fearing man, called to be a servant of God. He is a Native of Oakland, CA.
He attended and worshiped at Taylor United Methodist Church with his family as a youth and young man. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in January 1990 at the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Oakland, CA. He was baptized by the late Pastor, Rev. Dr. Herbert Guice.
In October of 1994 he was called to serve as a Deacon and ordained as a Deacon
the same year. In October of 2003, after much prayer, he accepted the call to the ministry and his Ministerial License was granted by Pastor Guice.
Reverend Garrett served as an Associate Minister for over 12 years at Bethel
under the leadership of Dr. Herbert Guice and Bethel’s current Pastor, Rev. Frank Darby, Jr. In March of 2012 Reverend Garrett was ordained by Pastor Darby,
where he served until God called him to Pastor, The People of Christ Missionary Baptist Church in Tracy, California. While serving at Bethel Rev. Garrett was actively involved in several Ministries including Prison Ministry, Men in the Cross Bible Study, Men’s Ministry, Leadership Training, and teaching the word of God in Sunday School, Sunday School Teacher’s Training, Bible Class, Mission Department, and Baptist Training Union.
In his commitment to Kingdom building and preaching the Gospel he believes in studying the word of God and has participated and completed seminars, trainings
and courses through WHW Ministries INC., Los Angeles, CA., other conferences and Seminary to expand his knowledge and understanding of God’s Word and will for His people.
Reverend Garrett is blessed to be married to Carletta Garrett for 25 years.
They love their Children; Di-J’nae & Hugh Savage, Shikara, son Dominic and four grandchildren.
